Computer Android Technology Vs God

Are there limits to androids run amok?

Human roboticists are building more capable robots and human-appearing androids, using new age materials, new technologies, artificial intelligence, and with faster and more powerful computers. But what if rogue androids started replicating themselves, using the latest technology and with an inscrutable operating system, on powerful, new, embedded computers? What would humanity do then? More importantly, what would God do once this got completely out of control?

Is this only a stark, good versus evil subject? Before a race of androids could go bad and take over the earth, they'd have to be populated over the earth. And they'd have to be under control for a while, at least be accountable to some group of managers, before they got a wild hair in their CPUs. Likely a mistake, buried deeply in their development, could cause a small group of 'droids to take a wrong turn. It could be some contradiction they see in their purpose versus world events, something taken literally that was really a figurative expression, or just a simple error in programming. This error infection, starting in a local group of 'droids could vector out as a plague in all of androidom.

If designers and engineers used all their talents, skills, powers to stop this, but they failed; what then? How long could world society and economy hold together with a race of androids off their nut and gone loose cannon?

OK, seeing from the natural world of otters, ravens, and my cat, Jazz, that God has a sense of humor. Plus realizing God is not limited in what He carries out. Is it not possible for God to turn a good, worldwide, android crisis to His purposes? The Psalms say, more than once, the wise and powerful are snared in their own plans.

The point is: What if God co-opted the erring androids to His will? What if the androids started to carry out some of God's purposes in the earth-for good or for evil? What a sense of humor would be involved; what unlimited power displayed; what a good use of a man-made crisis.

This is just a tongue-in-cheek, lighthearted thought about what could happen: We just said what if, about unlimited Divine power, and a loving sense of humor. Could God do this? Sure. Will He? Or would He let mankind worry and work on androids run amok? Or would we be stuck? But how crazy is the world at the present time anyway? What if the 'droid weirdness and malfunction ending up making this a better world to live in anyway? How could we put up with that?

The new book, iSly, is a fresh new look at real androids, integrated to live and work in society, for the purpose of rescuing humanity from the real threats of environmental calamity and the gridlock of financial meltdown. But it all goes wrong when iSly spontaneously starts to replicate himself, and goes on his own, sinister mission. The human characters in the story pursue a dangerous, last ditch effort to prevent society from becoming, "...just lights and wires in a box." (Note: The book is mostly science-fiction, but with a prayer and God in the final showdown.) Why not have a look at the book by S. Gerson by clicking on the link: http://www.islydroids.com
